Client Bio

CourMed utilizes enterprise software to facilitate the innovative concierge delivery of healthcare products and services. These include prescriptions, high-end vitamins, high-end supplements, CBD Oil, vaccines (COVID-19, travel, and flu), monoclonal antibodies, and IV vitamins. CourMed has been invested in by both Microsoft and Google.

Overview

In the early days of the company, CourMed had a primitive software solution. As CourMed has grown, new customers were having trouble signing up due to the software’s clunkiness, which negatively impacted the company. This software was also the source of client complaints due to its unreliability and quirky implementation. The CEO of CourMed approached Invene about completely revamping CourMed’s technology.

Challenge

As a fast-growing startup, CourMed’s main priority was speed and every day without a new software solution, their competition was catching up. Since CourMed had already deployed a software solution to their clients, any rewrites had to be significantly better to convince their customers to switch to the new platform. Many of CourMed’s customers are not tech-savvy, most of them being pharmacists or doctors, so the software would need to be incredibly easy to use and easy to train others to use. CourMed also has multiple lines of businesses such as crowdsourced same day, crowdsourced next day, monoclonal antibodies, and COVID-19 vaccines which involve different functionality.

Solution

Invene created a brand-new desktop application to replace CourMed’s old software. To do this, Invene called every existing customer and solicited feedback about the legacy application, along with talking with CourMed’s internal operation team. Invene then incorporated these ideas into a product roadmap, shared this with all the various CourMed stakeholders, and started executing on the product roadmap. Some of these features involved sending out email reports to the operations team via the Mailgun API, integrating with Bill.com so CourMed would no longer need to bill manually, and integrating with Pharmacy Management Systems like Pioneer and Liberty.

Result

Due to Invene’s approach, every single client of CourMed’s enthusiastically switched over to the new software, which completely streamlined client processes, cutting down entry time anywhere from 60% to 80%. The new software allowed CourMed to increase revenue-per-customer because they could easily onboard client’s employees to the CourMed software, massively reducing customer calls and complaints due to added features, such as geofencing and a what-you-see-is-what-you-get (WYSIWG) printing interface. CourMed’s CEO personally saved time as he no longer had to spend days manually billing customers which the application handled automatically. The new software turned technology from a hindrance on sales into one of CourMed’s biggest strengths.
