Emergicon Information

●      Industry: Ambulatory Billing Service

●      Product: Workflow Automation, RPA

●      Technologies: Python, SQL

Client Bio

Emergicon is the largest EMS billing company in Texas. They help cities, towns, counties, hospital districts, and private EMS agencies significantly increase their reimbursements from ambulance claims.

Overview

Emergicon approached Invene to help automate and improve their internal processes. Emergicon’s previous workflows were based on outdated technology and were quickly becoming obsolete as Emergicon scaled. By utilizing workflow automation tools that Invene built, Emergicon was able to increase operating margin.

Challenge

The workflow automation was critical to Emergicon’s core business. No errors could be tolerated, as any problems could significantly hurt their operations, revenue, and reputation. As such, it required in-depth error handling and reporting to ensure problems were handled in a timely manner. All data generated must always be accurate as they are frequently audited by their clients.

Solution

Invene built a suite of automation tools to improve Emergicon’s internal processes. Invene developed these scripts in Python and designed them to be easily moved to the cloud once Emergicon finished their transition to Microsoft Azure. Invene designed Emergicon’s reports from the ground up to limit potential client questions and strengthen the Emergicon brand. Invene also created new reports to help Emergicon reduce customer churn and help their sales representatives upsell existing customers.

Result

With the automation suite Invene built, Emergicon was able to significantly improve internal operations and continue to efficiently add new clients. Instead of multiple days of high-paid employees to carry out these workflows, it now takes one person 2 hours.
